Four reasons, running water damage caused by dry grinding. Five reasons, cavitation. Cavitation arising primarily from the heat pump. Because the medium is hot water, high temperature steam, the vapor inside the tubes into the pump cavity height, this part of the vapor can not be excluded, resulting in water running, dry grinding mechanical seal failure, cavitation as automatic scheduling valve, the replacement of mechanical seals.

Six reasons, the assembly problem. Movement may also install the ring, the rubber is damaged, or static ring surface bumps. Approach: removal of heavy equipment, check the pump cover is installed level.


Water Leakage in mechanical seal at the second possibility is mechanical failure of sealant.

Mechanical Failure sealants: rubber aging, deformation, mainly in the aging heat pumps, deformation. The performance of mechanical seal failure phenomenon of plastic water temperature is too high, medium dissolved rubber. From the exterior view of rubber surface loose, rough, loss of elasticity, so that the rubber failure. Approach: replacement for the rubber material.

Mechanical seal leakage of water pump cover third possibility is causing static ring chamber.

Mainly due to static ring indoor Holes error, the surface rough. The phenomenon of the performance of water from the axial, static ring and the gap between the inner hole or rough inner hole, the static rings with the switch, rubber wear. Approach: replace the pump cover. Wrapped with Teflon tape or stationary ring outer ring, or add sealant for emergency treatment.

Water Leakage in mechanical seal at the fourth possibility is that the motor crankshaft machining accuracy, small size, roughness and the journal corrosion. Mainly due to the motor journal (put ring at) processing, small size, or due to corrosion of pumping corrosive media, as well as for a long time disabled, water as medium, steel shaft and impeller castings, pump cover different electrode potential to form a galvanic cell reaction, resulting in corrosion of the journal. 1, the static rings face rough.

3, the seal face poor corrosion resistance and heat resistance, friction match properly. Treatment: Change the static ring material, to temperature, corrosion-resistant.

4, inadequate cooling or face particles in the installation folder with impurities. Treatment: Increase coolant or increase the hydraulic pipe diameter.

Third, the mechanical seal and Treatment of Leakage

1, the static pressure leak test

(1) Seals to be bumps installed, deformation, damage.

(2) Seals installation, clean up dirty, there are the granular impurities.

(3) Seals screws loose or is not as tight, gland (the static stationary ring components for the plate) is not compressed.

(4) machinery, equipment, lack of precision, so that the sealing surface is not fully fit.

(5) static and dynamic compression ring or compression ring is not inadequate or damaged.

(6) V-ring seals the direction of movement upside down.

(7) If shaft leakage, seal sleeve assembly is not enough compression or compression or damage. Approach: to strengthen the inspection assembly, cleaning, in strict accordance with technical requirements of the assembly.
